NSW Study Tour 2023

NSW Study Tour 2023

CSA is proposing a 3-day study tour where we will spend two days visiting 4 different schools, exploring with them the journey they are taking towards quality teaching & learning. Each school will present a slightly different focus, ranging from explicit instruction to powerful learning, use of the Quality Teacher Framework to the design and construction of creative spaces, as well as the role distance education and online learning can play in your school.

With time each day for reflection and collaboration with other members of the group, this is a tour not to be missed. The opportunity to build relationships and partnerships with other Christian educators and schools will serve to benefit all those who attend and their own school communities moving forward.  Additionally, the opportunity to engage in Q&A with key staff in each school will enrich the experience.

Plan to join us and book your spot today, places are limited!

Event Information

This 3-day study tour is ideally suited for Heads of Teaching & Learning from our CSA member schools around the country. The purpose of the tour is to:

  • strengthen Teaching & Learning Communities of Practice, which will in turn;
  • build collective efficacy amongst CSA schools; and,
  • examine a number of pedagogical approaches used across a number of schools.

This special study tour will commence on Tuesday evening with a group dinner and will conclude on the Friday with the group joining the NSW/ACT Teaching & Learning Community of Practice for their Term 2 gathering. Participation in this community of practice will provide a great opportunity to experience firsthand how CSA schools are working collaboratively to support each other in the development of quality teaching across their schools.

Registration costs include:

  • single accommodation for 3 nights (Tues-Fri), in individual rooms with a queen bed.
  • the majority of meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) for the tour (except Thursday night: optional city tour and dinner).
  • transport to and from the accommodation and school visits (travel and airfares to & from airport/accommodation, at own cost).

Please note that prices do not include airfares, and GST will automatically be applied at checkout.

Principal, Mt Annan Christian College: Gabi Korocz

The vision of Mount Annan Christian College is to provide a Christ-centred learning environment that empowers each individual to enjoy a life of purpose. The College has been serving the wider community of Macarthur since 1999 and continues to have a strong vision and desire to work in partnership with local families who are looking to provide a quality Christian educational experience with great values and discipline set in one of the most peaceful and idyllic locations in the whole Region.

Principal, Cedars Christian College: Steve Walton

At Cedars Christian College, we recognise that the lives we prepare, are more than just students, but a visionary, forward-thinking generation. Those, who want the confidence of knowing that what they learn today, will equip them to achieve more than academic success, but to be empowered as individuals of faith who believe they can. And that’s to create authentic change. For they are tomorrow’s frontrunners, initiators, and world shapers, who aren’t prepared to settle for less.

Principal, Australian Christian Colleges, Marsden Park: Brendan Corr

Australian Christian College (ACC) is a not-for-profit, non-denominational, Christian Education organisation whose mission is to develop each and every student to be equipped spiritually, academically, socially and physically to flourish into their full potential, and be a positive influence on the world around them. ACC is wholeheartedly committed to excellence in education so that students are “well known, well loved, and well taught” by dedicated trained Christian staff.

Principal, Toongabbie Christian College: Johan Griesel

At Toongabbie Christian College, we desire Jesus to be first in everything we think, say and do. Working together, we seek the mind of Christ in all our planning and decision making. As we participate in every aspect of College life, we seek to offer the best of ourselves for God’s glory. We long to be a generous and inclusive community where our students, staff and parents/carers are valued and enabled to discover and live out God’s purpose for their lives. We are committed to walking the journey of character and faith formation, speaking the truth in love and maturing until each one of us attains ‘the whole measure of the fullness of Christ’ (Eph 4:13).
